Gardner Ministries Victory Christian Center Inc. began
as a radio program in 1984. The ministry of Victory Christian Center was
birthed on Sunday, January 13, 1985, under the pastorate of the now Apostle
Bobby G. Gardner. In attendance at this service were eight (8) people,
including the Pastor's family. Services for the first year were all held
at the Quality Inn in Danbury. The ministry reached out to the community
through bible studies, outdoor rallies, tent revivals, Saturday night
crusades, street witnessing, the Memorial Day Parade, and the radio ministry
that had begun the previous year. As the Lord began to add souls to the
church, the church made a move to the Mill Ridge Intermediate School.
In 1986, God opened the doors for further outreach by
way of local access cable. Through this vehicle we were able to produce
a television program titled "One Half Hour of the Gospel". This
program allowed us to come into the homes of people that we might otherwise
have never had the opportunity to reach.
God opened the door to Community of the Cross Ministry,
under the direction of Father Lawrence Carew, in 1987 to lift the financial
burden and that we might be able to begin preparation for building Victory
Christian Center's own sanctuary and fellowship hall. The Lord enabled
us to purchase the first phase of land at 3 Eden Drive in 1990, and expand
in 1992 to purchase the adjacent property at 23 Eden Drive, which currently
houses our office headquarters. VCC broke ground and began the foundation
of the new sanctuary in the fall of 1994. The builders completed the preliminary
work and we were able to march into our new home on Easter Sunday morning
in April 1996.
Reverend Bobby G. Gardner was elevated into the office
of Apostle in 1998, and Victory Bible Institute (VBI) was established
under the directorship of Pastor Mary Gardner, Dean. VBI is an educational
venue used to further edify and equip the saints of Victory. Currently,
there are eleven classes offered for certification.
God has continued to bless the work that He has placed
in our hands by sending strong teachers and evangelists to share the burden
of the workload of the church. The additional help of the able ministers
has allowed us to go into prisons, conduct seminars, and minister in revivals
and crusades along the East Coast. The church has approximately 23 active
ministries under her covering that include Praise & Worship, Praise
Dance Ministry, Drama, Marriage, Men, Women, Youth and Outreach, just to name a few.

Fulfilling the call of an Apostle, Pastor Gardner instituted
a Spanish Ministry in 2001. VCC, appropriately situated in the heart of
a growing Hispanic Community, is now able to minister to God's people
in their native language. Services are take place each fourth Sunday at
3:00 PM. The Hispanic Ministry is the first offspring for Apostle Gardner.
Also in 2001, our television ministry grew and "One Half Hour of the
Gospel" can now be viewed twice per week in Danbury, in addition to
Bridgeport, New Haven and Waterbury, Connecticut.
"Trailblazing" is the term attributed to 2002. This
year would bring monumental growth to the body of Christ through Apostle
Gardner. January began by elevating Elder James Tillery into the office
of Pastor, and establishing Victory Christian Center II. Together
with his wife, Sister Sheral Tillery, and family, Pastor Tillery ministers
in Waterbury, Connecticut to a congregation that began with approximately
20 members and continues to grow.
In January of this same year, VCC's Youth Ministry began
holding services every other Wednesday evening, which has led to further
construction and expansion. Minster Tanisha Jamison, began working with
the children ages 5 - 18. Bringing a Word that affects spiritual
awareness and insight into living an openly Christian life by encouraging
them that it is right and just to profess the Lord and not to succumb
to peer pressure.
Furthermore, in January of 2002 we also saw the birth
of our Early Morning worship service. Apostle Gardner sensed the need
to allow persons who cannot make it to Mid-Morning services, due to work
and other obligations, to have a means to give their time to the Lord
and build up their faith. Through the moving of the Holy Spirit, these
services have proved to be an exhilarating way to begin your day and week.
The vision that the Lord gave to Apostle Gardner continues
to burn brightly for all of us. We will work to see souls saved, delivered
and made free, for we know that the fields are white unto harvest. The
work has not been without trials and tests, but we believe "No Cross,
No Crown", and also that as Paul stated in Philippians 1:6, "He that hath
begun a good work in us, will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."
We invite you to visit with us at Victory Christian Center and join
us as we continue to "Go Forth in the Name of the Lord"!
